Our love story..
Loz was just a small town girl, living in a lonely world, she’d catch the midday train to her Boost Juice job. Stub was a city boy, born and raised in South Darley. He used to fix paths and roads going any-where…
One day they met whilst Lauren was working at the supermarket. Stub noticed her cute smile and ghetto booty. Often he would visit the store and always “randomly” go to Lauren’s checkout lane. Some flirting would occur.
Stub then went on a big road trip around half of Australia and thought he may have missed his opportunity, funnily enough, Loz thought that too
They both were elated, and as their friends came down the mountain one by one and congratulated the couple. They were so blessed, Stub even got stung by a European wasp that evening…it looks like it was meant to bee…
Over the ensuing years, Stub and Loz continued progressing with their careers which they both enjoy. In 2015 they decided to have a big adventure up to the tropics with their beloved kelpie, Boomer. They have made great friends and had tremendous opportunities with their work and livelihood. They are unsure what the future holds for where they live, but they do know that they will do it together. They believe in each other and with the support of their family and friends, as seen today, they know anything is possible.
Luckily Stub came back, and to celebrate, he decided to go to the Royal because he is classy and sophisticated. Whilst standing off the dance floor, he spotted Loz across the distance, seductively he made his way over. It is at this moment he swept Loz off her feet with his smooth dance moves and shoulder thrusts (they were real smooth). When he gestured for Loz to get under his um-be-rella, and she did, he then knew he had won her over, thanks Rhianna. For the rest of the night they danced, talked and laughed, eventually saying goodbye with a sneaky kiss under the street light at the front of his Dad’s house. Stub was also stoked because he didn’t have to walk home or pay for a taxi.
Over the next few weeks they would go on dates and learn about each other and their aspirations. The weeks turned into months. During this time they would inspire and support each other as Stub wanted to follow his dream of becoming a PE teacher and Lauren to further her education as a nurse. Over the first few years they studied hard but also explored together. They enjoyed spending time with their loved ones both as a couple as well as individually, which important to them.
Around the four year mark Loz started dropping ‘when are you going to put a ring on it?’. This made Stub nervous, but he was much more thankful it wasn’t baby talk. After Christmas in 2013 Loz found a ring that she adored and ‘subtly’ dropped to Stub that she liked the ring. Stub, being a romantic, put a deposit on the ring the following day unbeknown to anyone. Over the months he paid the $2000 dollar monthly repayments to pay off the ring. To keep Loz unaware of his romantic gesture, he would claim that he was visiting the boys to drink alcohol. He ensured he did this so that the story looked legit.
Finally Stub had paid off the ring, which had sent him broke, and a plan had been put in place to pop the question in New Zealand whilst with dear friends. He went to Lauren’s folks house and asked Brendan if he could have his daughters, hand in marriage, the response ‘Fuck Stub, that’s shit hot!’. Whilst in New Zealand they enjoyed many activities such as caving, luging (loo-ging), zorb balling, white water rafting and of course Snowboarding. It was on the ski slopes of Mt Ruapehu (Rah-pay-who) as the sun was beginning to set, Stub over-confidently got down on one knee and asked “Would a guy like you marry a boy like me?”…thankfully, she said yes.
